Frequently Asked Questions
Will GreenBelt be closed for my event?
The Carrollton GreenBelt remains open during events and the Event Organizer must ensure the set up of the event does not block the trail in any way. This includes crowd control and keeping participants off the trail until your event starts.
My event route passes a soccer field, can we request no games be sceduled for our event?
Off-the-trail facilities, like the Lakeshore Pool, East Carrollton Park, fields, or any of the playgrounds, pavilions, and so on, do not close during events.
Existing programs will not be canceled to accommodate GreenBelt events.
A run is scheduled for our PERFECT date. Can we schedule a golf tournament at the same time?
Only one event a day may be held on the Carrollton GreenBelt trail, no matter the type. Events are booked on a first-come/first-serve basis, so book early!
We want to host a color run!
Unfortunately, no color-run events are allowed on the trail. In fact, we ask that the trail is not marked in any way. Timing companies can set up start/finish flags, but please do not spray anything on the trail surface.
My bike group wants to hold a race on the trail, why can’t we?
The GreenBelt does not close for events so all the bikers must yield to pedestrians and maintain a safe speed. The rule for most Georgia trails is to not exceed 20 mph.
Riders must obey all traffic laws, posted signs, and street crossing signals.
We are having an organized social bike ride – are there any special rules?
Bike event hosts have to require the use of bike helmets for all participants, regardless of age.
